Fall is here!

3:19 PM

Fall is officially here!! Although deep in the heart of Texas, we are still feeling the 90 degree temperatures, we are still excited and ready to start a new season. I love fall weather, the cool nights are so perfect to go sit outside and enjoy dinner or a delicious beer.
For fall, I normally crave the same fashion: booties, maroon lipsticks, warm coffee (I normally drink iced), pumpkin scented candles, opaque tights and chunky bright earrings.
This year is similar, BUT I'm hoping to go with more bold styles and patterns. I want to wear sequin booties (I'm hoping my boss orders some for the store!!), chunky crazy sweaters, and put tights under everything. I'm always into darker lipsticks year round, but I guess it feels more acceptable to wear it in the fall season. I can't wait for that first cool front to drop down here! In the meantime, I'll just keep getting my fall wardrobe ready.

Links to everything pictured below:

Sweaters: white sweater, mauve sweater, mustard sweater
Booties: tan booties, cheetah booties, velvet booties
Lipsticks: milani in "black cherry", maybelline in "coffee addiction"
Earrings: turquoise earrings, white fan earrings, silver chunky earrings
Candles: both are from Khols
Coffee Tumbler: "messy hair, don't care" tumbler

What are some of your fall favorites? Let me know!

Quick Trip to LA!

11:31 AM

Last week, I went on a quick trip to Los Angeles with my boss to shop for the boutique I work at. We were there for 4 days, and it was nearly not enough to see what California has to offer, I had yet to go to Cali, so I wanted to see everything! I always thought of myself more as a east coast kinda gal, but my experience in LA was really nice, I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The weather was so great, and coming from south Texas, I was mind-blown when I heard some people do not have air conditioners in their homes! That is something unheard of here where temperatures reach 115! We went down to the Hollywood area, and it was such a circus, people are crazy in that area, and it was unlike anything I had seen before (I thought Austin was weird). It was an interesting experience nonetheless, and I enjoyed the crazy people and the even crazier driving! We spent most of the time in the fashion district shopping at the stores there, and the fashion in LA was SO wonderful. I loved the effortless, free-spirited fashion everyone wasn't scared to sport. I live in a city where people are very close-minded and are not very daring with their fashion sense! Although, slowly people are catching on to the fashion world down here... it was SO cool to see people sporting big pants, and colorful tennis! I fell in love with the world of being a "buyer" and although at times it felt a little overwhelming being surrounded by boxes and boxes and walls of clothing everywhere you turn, in the end it was such a fun experience. So thankful to work with the company I work at, making my dreams come true!

Beach Essentials from Zaful!

11:22 PM

As summer is nearing to an end, there's still a couple more weeks to enjoy! I know I just got back from the beach, but I'm already planning another trip in a couple weeks with my boyfriend. I definitely will be needing a new swimsuit and right now I'm currently eyeing these swimsuits from 'Zaful', so cute, and at such an amazing price! I'm also thinking about trying out the off the shoulder bikini; of course I've gotten tops with that trend, but I have yet to try it out in a bikini style. I currently have these two on my wish list! Aren't they adorable?!

A few other things I'm eyeing to take along with me to the beach are:

--> this super cute crop top to pair with high-waisted shorts!

-->  and this super cute summer dress for walking around and having dinner.
and lastly of course, I need a simple bag to carry around that isn't too big or bulky, we're at the beach, simplicity is in full mode! I fell in love with this simple grey bag, you can carry it as a handbag or as a shoulder bag, my favorite, because I never know how I'll be feeling that day!

There is so much to choose from on their site and for all occasions, you definitely will find something! As a thank you and to help you feel fabulous and fancy all summer Zaful is offering all my readers a 10% off code, to discover all the newest summer arrivals!

Beach Weekend

3:10 PM

My bosses decided to close our work this weekend and go on a beach trip getaway! Sometimes I forget how wonderful, and beautiful it is to live so close to a beach. I don't take enough advantage of it. I remember the other day watching a movie, it was about a girl who lived somewhere in the mid-west and she dreamed of the ocean, and how free and beautiful it made her feel, and I thought, some people actually don't live anywhere near a body of water!! They go there lives without being able to drive an hour away and go feel the fresh cool island breeze, sand on your toes, and sandy damp hair, how crazy! As I grow up, I'm learning to love my hometown and where I live, we live in such a great location, and the culture is so pure. It really was a relaxing weekend, full of laughs, sun, tans, and too much vodka. Here's to the end of summer!

What's New Friday?!

3:36 PM

It's July already, where is the summer going (besides extremely fast)!? Here are a few things I've snagged over the last two weeks at different places. I was in need of some simple black mules, I know I didn't have any, and I found these at Target {linked them below} they are super comfortable and I love them with dark skinny denims. Lately I've been all about matching my purse to my outfits, I go through phases of this, where I want to match, then I get tired of transferring everything from one purse to the next, so I stop; but as of now though, I am back in this mood, and realized I didn't have a simple black purse (to match my mules) so I found this one at Old Navy {linked below}, I'm real into shoulder bag, so this one is light-weight and perfect. The studded nude sandals pictured above are from my work, Shop 112, we received them in nude and black, and I INSTANTLY feel in love with the nude, so perfect for summer and to transfer into the fall season. I couldn't find a link for the exact sandal but the brand is "cityclassified". Lastly, as mentioned in a previous post, I'm very into big statement earrings, so ball drop earrings are a must! I linked a few similar styles below, but I feel now, you can find different colors of these earrings almost anywhere, so fun to any outfit!

Feeling lost in your 20s.

3:26 PM

Hitting 25, I'm realizing I'm not an adult, ha! When I was 16, I remember thinking when I'm in my 20s, I'm going to have my own house, have a career going on, maybe start a family, get married. . . but now that I'm 25, I'm like whoa, I still feel like a kid?! Is this what being an adult is? Being a lost big kid trying to figure things out. I feel like in life there is an order to things, or maybe being mexican, the culture has a certain expectation. . . you finish high school, go to college, get a career, get married, have kids. . . and so on. Then at family gatherings, being 25 and still not married, your grandparents and family members start asking when are you getting married? Didn't you graduate college? When are you going to put your degree to use? It starts to become overwhelming, and makes you feel like a failure. Although, I do have my degree, and have been graduated for 2 years now,
it's 2017, things are changing
I feel people my age are wanting to do different things now! We aren't following the traditional route our parents took, we are waiting longer to have kids, waiting longer to get married, traveling, learning and following our own route. A little about me, I do have my certifications to teach as a background to fall on in case I want to go that route, I want to specialize in "special education" because that's where my heart lies, my degree is in 'rehabilitation', so I studied the different disabilities and am more familiar with that population. Although, I have that as my background, I am currently working with fashion at a local boutique in my hometown. I love my job so much, I love taking photos, I love putting outfits together, I love blogging, and I love helping people put outfits together for events they have coming up.
My job is planning on expanding and were getting bigger as a company, and to grow with them would be so fun! I'm soon going to be apart of the social media team with Shop 112, and our social media is very well known! So this all feels so ideal to me.
I feel I'm meant to be out there, and am supposed to do different things
sometimes I'm not sure I'm meant to be cooped up in a classroom all day hidden from the world. I want to influence people but differently, I want to influence via fashion and expression. Sometimes I feel very happy doing what I'm doing but in the back of my head, I still get nervous and feel I don't amount up to other people's eyes, because I don't have a "real" career. I know I still live at home with my mom and brother, and that also adds to the factors of pressure that I don't have my own place even though I'm already 25. Although, all these things float around my head, I remember I need to make myself happy, and that my happiness is most important.
I think what's meant to be will be, and what is meant for me, will fall into place. Although, it might take time, and is going to be a different plan from everyone else, it will be MY plan, and I need to realize that.
Everyone is meant to do something in their life, and it's okay if we all do different things, we shouldn't judge one person for doing one thing with their life while someone else is doing something completely different.
Through all this, I feel being in your 20s is about finding yourself, and seeing what your supposed to do. I love that I am learning more things about myself, and what I like, what I enjoy, what makes me nervous, what gets me mad . . . I love getting to know me, and feeling less lost about myself. Although I sometimes feel like I'm the only one who doesn't know what I want to do "when I grow up", I recently met up with some former school colleagues, and some are just as lost as I am! It felt nice to not be alone, and can relate to other people my age.
On another factor, I feel social media also contributes to having stress about our lives, we obviously only post the good stuff about ourselves, so us seeing other people and the "goodness" in their lives, it makes us feel like "less", because we only see the good of other people,
but not their struggles that go on behind the scenes.
In the end, I need to remember that things are changing, and traditions are changing too. It's okay if I don't have a family by my mid-twenties, or that my career choice isn't what my friends are choosing, I'm doing what makes ME happy! I always hear people choose a profession then complain constantly, and I don't want that to be my life . . . I want to be happy, and enjoy what I do. So here's to the rest of my twenties . . . figuring stuff out and working on MY happiness.

Round-up of my favs and where you can find them!

White Ruffles!
This top was SOOOO fun to wear! I love the simplicity it has and how versatile it can be. So many options to wear this and it is really breezy, perfect for the summer time! Here are a couple of similar tops to the one I'm wearing and where you can get them! Just click the link:

Simple White Button-Up
It took me a while before I found a nice, decent, not boyish-looking white button-up. I have a very short stature, so some made me look too "box-y" while others were too long, and some felt too "waitress-y". I came across this one at my work, a boutique in McAllen, TX, and I love it, it is what I needed in my life. You can find some similar ones here:

Denim Gauchos
If I could I would wear these denims everyday, like honestly, I mean everyday, haha. They are SOO comfortable and add so much flare to any outfit, also dig how they give me those 70's vibes, so fun. I purchased these at Target, and am looking for another pair in maybe a lighter wash. So you can get my exact pair at Target or I found a couple of similar pairs:

Low-Heel Mules
I was always skeptic with low-heeled mules because I felt "grandma vibes" often with certain styles and it took me a while before I bought myself a pair. Now that I own some of my own, I'm so glad I finally bought some, because they are extremely comfortable and add just a little height to you (which in my case,  I need all the height I can get). I got some blush pink ones, and they add such a delicate touch to my outfits. I purchased mine at Shop 112, where we have these blush ones, as well as black, but you can get yourself a similar pair:

Ring Handle Handbag
As soon as I saw this style of handbag come out, I knew I needed one! I know there has been different styles of ring handle handbags in the past, but I love the modern style that is being out now. I love the unique look it has, and holding the handle is oddly fun? It adds chic-ness to any simple outfit, and mine also comes with a shoulder strap you can add or remove. I got my version of this bag at Forever 21, but similar styles you can get here:

I hope you all enjoyed my picks and how you too can get my style as well! Thank you for always reading and if you have any requests, comment below or message/comment on my instagram as always!

Shop 112 Picks: Brights for Spring!

4:12 PM

This week I'm really feeling the spring vibes with our new arrivals at the shop. SO MUCH florals is all I can say. . . along with cute rompers, fun dresses, and statement pieces that are sure to turn heads! I'm loving the bright yellow also for spring, normally yellow isn't in my closet but I'm definitely going to change that this season and well on into summer. Aside from florals, off the shoulder trend still seems to be going strong, so we still are receiving a ton of those! Rompers, I have a love/somewhat dislike (?) relationship with them. LOVE: they are easy to wear, you don't have to worry about matching a top or bottom, just slip it up and go! HATE: going to the restroom, ladies, you know what I mean!! Regardless, I still buy them because they are always so cute, and so effortless. All these pieces will be available next Thursday (4/6)!
